During this year’s Golden Days Festival, you can experience pianist and composer, August Rosenbaum, interpreting Gustav Mahler’s Ich bin der Welt abhanden komme as a direct reference to Birk Bjørlo’s current exhibition in Møstings.
The concert is performed in one of Bjørlo’s large object paintings and is a conversation between Rosenbaum, Bjørlo’s works and Mahler’s iconic piece. In the exhibition, the paintings represent both mental and literal landscapes, which, like Mahler’s iconic work, revolve around existential questions, such as what it means to be a part of this world, when at the same time you feel alienated from it.
