From December 2 to December 21, Kunst På Arbejde (Art at Work) and the Frederiksberg Museums present the exhibition ÅRGANG 2023 at Møstings. Here, you can experience a significant array of works from 15 newly graduated artists, that explore themes ranging from mythology, identity and memory to pop culture, the body, landscape, intimacy, technology and materiality.

Overall, the participating artists in the ÅRGANG 2023 exhibition paint a multifaceted picture, with a broad range of positions and artistic expressions both formally and in terms of content; the exhibition brings together the subdued, the outspoken, the poetic and the conceptual.

The exhibition resulted from an open call, where graduates from The Jutland Art Academy, Funen Art Academy and the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts could apply to contribute. A total of 15 artists and 20 works made it through the selection process. It is unique to present so many artists from the same graduating class in a collective exhibition, before the works embark on a journey to workplaces throughout the country in the upcoming years.

The exhibiting artists are: Adele Marie Rannes, Ayesha Ghaoul, C Clement, Emil Krog, Gro Pechüle, Hannah Amalie Nielsen, Josefine Boel Johannessen, Kristina Fernos, Line Elkjær Frandsen, Mads Hyldgaard Nielsen, Mira Winding, Rebekka Hilmer Heltoft, Simon Ganshorn, Sabrina Lucia and Tobias Just.

The director of Kunst På Arbejde, Marie Louise Helveg Bøgh, comments the following about the exhibition:

“The members of Kunst På Arbejde have a keen interest in seeing the latest art exhibited in their workplaces. Therefore, it makes a lot of sense for us as an association to contribute to increasing awareness of the new generation of artists by curating an entire exhibition featuring some of the newest artistic talents. We hope that the exhibition at Møstings will generate significant attention for these intriguing new artists within contemporary art right now.”

The collaboration between Møstings and Kunst På Arbejde supports a common goal of bringing art closer to the wider public and providing a platform for newly graduated artists. Kunst På Arbejde is a non-profit art association established in 1954. All artworks acquired by Kunst På Arbejde circulate among workplaces throughout the country.

ÅRGANG 2023 is the second out of five exhibitions, all donated by art patrons Trine and Gunnar Kjems. After being displayed at Møstings, the exhibition will move to the sculpture hall at Funen Art Academy in Odense from January 11 to January 24 before circulating to workplaces across the country.

There will be an opening reception at Møstings on Friday, December 1, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where everyone is welcome. The opening speech will be delivered by the chairman of the Culture and Leisure Committee in Frederiksberg, Lotte Kofoed.
