Karim Boumjimar: BODIES UNDER CONSTRUCTION

With BODIES UNDER CONSTRUCTION, Karim Boumjimar explores how the body relates to nature in a time marked by climatic and material change. Inspired by the visual language of antiquity, he draws on mythologies and rituals, translating them into ceramic and sculptural forms.

Classical motifs are reinterpreted in a contemporary context, where the connections between the organic and the created come to the fore and open up new sensorial encounters between past and present.

The exhibition opens on Friday, March 27, from 5-7 pm.

Karim Boumjimar (b. 1998) graduated from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in 2025, and also holds a BFA from Central Saint Martins in London. He exhibits internationally and has, alongside his solo practice, been active with Young Boy Dancing Group since 2016. Boumjimar works across painting, sculpture, installation, performance, and drawing in his explorations of the complex and multifaceted nature of identity, intimacy, and social relations.
