Words become objects and visual narratives when sculptor Jytte Høy, with pronounced precision, spatial sensitivity, and humor, takes over the exhibition spaces at Møstings with the extensive total installation Words Found More Added. A further development and culmination of a long-term artistic experiment.

There is a distinct literary thread in Jytte Høy’s artistic practice, especially in her work on the project Words Found More Added, which she initiated in 2011.
Here, selected text passages – ranging from Sappho’s fragments to contemporary literary works – form the basis for the creation of the works. Høy’s self-imposed dogma in the production of art objects for the series involves a careful selection of a wide variety of text excerpts. Once the sentences are chosen, they are responded to with new sentences, and finally, spatial works are created to accompany the texts; words are transformed into objects.

The exhibition is presented as a total installation, where the spaces are suspended between text and object, thought and feeling, as well as the works’ predominantly black, gray, and white color palette, which contrasts with the colorful surroundings in Møstings.

A powerful originality is expressed in Jytte Høy’s series of works, spanning an emotional range from a smile on the face to a confrontation with the harshest conditions of existence, which is exemplified by the sentence borrowed from the French poet Jacques Roubaud: You were dead. and this did not lie.

The opening reception for the exhibition will be held on Friday, January 17, from 5-7 PM. Everyone is welcome.

In connection with the exhibition, the book Words Found More Added will be published by The Green Box in Berlin. The publication adds extra layers to the exhibition through a text by writer and critic Mai Misfeldt, as well as notes and an afterword by Jytte Høy.

In connection with the release, Møstings will host a talk about the exhibition with the participation of Mai Misfeldt and Jytte Høy on Thursday, February 13, at 7 PM.
