About the Exhibition

Seven Deaths is a cinematic opera installation in which internationally acclaimed performance artist Marina Abramović stages death in seven of the most iconic female characters in opera history.

The seven films are presented as an immersive sequence lasting approximately one hour. The installation has been specially adapted to Cisternerne’s dark, underground architecture.

About the Introduction

The introduction takes place above ground every Tuesday and Thursday at 3:00 PM from June through August. It offers insight into Cisternerne, its unique setting and the current exhibition. Afterwards, you can explore the underground installation independently.

Participation is free with paid admission to Cisternerne. No registration is required – simply bring your own reusable water bottle.

We encourage you to arrive at least five minutes before the introduction begins.

Please note that it is cold and damp in Cisternerne, and there may be water on the floor. We therefore recommend bringing appropriate clothing.

This activity is part of CopenPay, an initiative that rewards visitors for exploring Copenhagen through positive actions.
